Uploads paid with credits or the free trial work again; they had failed since a Walrus storage price change in mid-October.
The server paid the price it had read when it started, so once storage nodes voted the price down, the chain refused every such registration. Each payment now reads the current price just before it is built, and is built again once if the price moves in between. The failed attempts cost nothing, and the credits they took went back to the account. If these payments start failing for another reason, a dry-run purchase made every day catches it within a day.
Extending storage from a drive left open while the Walrus price changed could show the old price and then fail.
The page kept the price and the epoch it had read when it opened. The extension quote, the expiry dates it is based on, and the erase transaction now read the chain again each time.
