When your file list is over its ceiling, the drive no longer tells you to ask for more room; the room grows on its own as your files are confirmed.
The line that appears when a save is refused for size used to end with a request link to the inbox. Since the list moved to chunks, the room an account has for it is a base amount plus more for every batch of files the storage network has confirmed, and nobody grants room by hand, so the link promised something that could not happen. The line now says what changes the outcome: delete files, or save again so an old single-piece list becomes chunks, and if the room looks wrong the inbox is still there. The CLI's advice for the same refusal says the same.
