Added
3Added a way to write to us without an account, at /ask.
Until now the inbox opened only after signing in, so someone who could not finish creating an account had no way to tell us. The new page takes a message with no account, protected by a human check and ten inquiries a day per address. Your IP address is not stored — the daily count uses a value derived from it that lives only in memory and changes at midnight (UTC). The answer is opened with a reading code shown once when you send; we keep only a check value of it, so if you lose it nobody can open that inquiry again.
Added a strip at the top of the drive: how many free-trial places are left this week, and the three ways to tell us something.
Applying for the trial used to exist only on the account screen, and the empty drive pointed at it in a sentence with no link. Both now sit on the screen you land on. The trial rules did not change: first come, first served against the weekly budget, with a human check on the application.
Added the large "Start using the drive" button to the first screen of the home page.
The large button appeared only at the end of the story, after a long scroll, and the version of the home shown to browsers with animation turned off had no way in at all. Both now carry the same button in the same place. The small button in the header is unchanged.
Changed
1Changed account creation: the code can be copied with a button, and downloading the recovery file now counts as having saved it.
The code had to be selected by hand and then typed back in, which is slow on a phone. The file contains the same code, so downloading it is the proof instead. Nothing was removed: if you neither download the file nor type the code back, the button stays disabled, because losing the code means the files cannot be recovered by anyone.
