  • A deleted board post's address now stops being a page the moment it is deleted.

The thread screen is drawn in your browser, so the server used to answer any numeric address with an empty page and let the browser say this post does not exist afterwards. A search robot does not wait for that, and our robots file invites robots in — so the address of a post somebody had deleted could keep standing in a search index as a live page, even though deleting a post really deletes it here, on purpose, because removing what you wrote is a right rather than a favour. The server now checks before it draws, and a post that was hidden by moderation still has a page, because the reason has to be readable, but it is marked so search engines do not send anybody to it. If our server cannot be reached the page renders as it always did, because turning a timeout into a missing page would hide live posts.
