The device list now says what signing a device out does not do.

Signing a device out ends that device's session, and the screen said only that. But a device where you ticked “Remember this device” holds your account code on its own disk: the next time it opens a page it signs itself back in, so the session ends and the device does not. Measured, not assumed — a test now signs a device out from another one, reloads, and finds it signed in again. The screen says this beside the button, including the part that has no remedy from here: a device you have lost cannot be cut off from the device list, because the code is on that disk.
