Added
1Added two ceilings to credit-paid storage: 2,048 credits per file, and 4,096 credits per account per day.
Credit-paid uploads are the one path our own wallet key signs, so each ceiling bounds what one mistake or one abused account can cost. A request past a ceiling is refused before any credit is spent, and the refusal carries the numbers.
Changed
4Split the visits figure on the statistics page into three labelled rows — all visits, human visits and a bot estimate — each naming its source.
One number used to mix people and crawlers. Now the page shows Cloudflare's count of all visits, the count from browsers that ran the measurement script (effectively people), and the difference, which we subtract for you. The numbers are read from Cloudflare when the page is drawn; when they cannot be read, the page says so instead of showing a zero. Browsers with measurement off are counted in the difference, so the bot row is an estimate, not a fact.
Posted a correction notice that withdraws one inaccurate sentence of the 6 August notice.
The earlier notice said the 13 August versions take nothing away; read against the current text, that was not accurate in one respect, and posted notices are never edited. The correction states what is actually refused before an acceptance is recorded (four requests), that renaming, restoring, extending and free-credit applications are never refused, and that the 30-day right counts from the later of the effective day and the day the notice reached you.
Split the acceptance screen into two ticks — consent to the Terms, and confirmation that you read the Privacy Policy — and added a save button that makes the notice a file for your account.
The Privacy Policy's own section 7.3 says we do not process on the basis of consent, so the screen no longer asks you to "accept" it — it asks you to confirm you read it. The screen's heading now says which document actually changed, and a button saves the notice as a dated file made out for your account, with the versions in force, the versions you last accepted, and your 30-day right written into it.
Changed the version gate so applying for free credits never waits for a new-version acceptance.
The weekly batch is first-come, first-served and a missed week does not come back, so an acceptance you had not recorded yet must not cost you the application. Spending credits on an upload still asks for the acceptance.
Fixed
2Fixed the acceptance screen, which wrongly said renaming, restoring and extending are refused until you accept.
The server has allowed all three without an acceptance since 6 August; the screen text had not followed. The two lists on that screen are now tied to the server's own table by a test, so they cannot drift apart again.
Fixed the notice board's save button, which showed an internal key string instead of its label, and placed it at the top of each notice as well.
